Learning About PMP Process Groups, Knowledge Areas

Many factories and businesses are working with Project Management Process. When working for this there are many questions that go through the mind. There is Project Management Process Groups and Knowledge Areas. It could be difficult to learn the difference between these elements.

When it comes to Project Management Process groups there are several groups. There is Initiating Processing Groups that means there is a requirement when it comes to defining project phases and new projects. When planning is underway these are Planning Groups, for examples. The PMBOK Guide is a requirement when planning for PMP certification exam. This has the information that is needed to learn everything required to pass the exam and earn PMP certification. There are five Process Groups according to the Fourth Edition of the PMBOK Guidebook. This includes: initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling and closing. These elements for the groups are required completely for each project that is underway.

It varies from project to project when it comes to the implication for the process. This is because most projects involve different tasks and different risk levels. Working with processing groups allows the project manager working with the project more guidance. It helps apply Project Management knowledge to the project as well as important skills allowing them to meet objectives. There is a plan for all the groups to meet at a common point while still working at different levels.

Now, it is time to look at knowledge areas when it comes to PMP. These are specialization areas and they are defined in the fourth edition of the PMBOK Guidebook. These management knowledge areas include: project integration, project scope, project time, project cost, project quality, project human resource, project communications, and project risk and project procurement. This is plain and simple as an explanation for knowledge areas when it comes to comparing it to process groups.

When it comes to knowledge areas the PMBOK is a great way to learn more. The same is true for the process groups. It maps out five process groups and nine knowledge areas in "42 Project Management Processes". Both of these elements are important to PMP. Many feel they work together to create success when working with PMP. When studying to earn PMP everyone will learn these elements. Everything they learn they will not only input on the exam, but they will deal with it routinely on the job.

Knowledge management and PMP go hand in hand to ensure stability of profits and intelligent manpower that is qualified to lead the teams during project implementation.

The PMP Exam audit process

By applying for the examination of professional project management (PMP) also automatically agrees to comply with the mandate of the PMI audit. PMI writes about this in the manual of credentials as follows:

To ensure that only qualified individuals reach PMI credentials, we do routinely audits of candidatures. However, the audit process is primarily random, PMI reserves the right to any candidate for audit or PMI individual credentialed at any time.

Here is what you can do to make a possible audit go smoothly and what to expect.

First, start by reading the manual of the PMI credentials to learn the basics about the audit process. Do not enumerate every detail, but is only official information that the PMI has published on its website on it.

As a filling in your application for the review to answer all questions truthfully. The application intends to demonstrate that they meet the eligibility requirements of PMI. Auditing intends to ensure that the only viable candidates will apply. As a result, if truly filled in your application, then you have nothing to fear from the audit. This audit process is one of the reasons that the credential maintains its high consideration.

Audits are completely random and you will be informed by email that he has been selected. This email is usually sent to when submitting your application. Together with the Declaration that has been selected for an audit, the email also contains detailed instructions for audit.

At this point, it is important to keep in mind that once you're being audited "clock stops". With this we mean that you have one year after the filing of his application for the real examination. But during the audit, this "clock stops" and does not continue until after the audit was has not prosecuted. So if your audit 6 weeks, then 1 year and 6 weeks you have to conduct the review.

After informing you that are audited, PMI will prepare the "audit package" for you. Log into your account in PMI to find it. This package contains the details that have been submitted for each of their projects in their application. It also contains further instructions. Now you have to do the following:

* In their application was named a people's primary contact for each of the projects that had been worked on. Forward the relevant section of the package for each of your primary contacts. Now they have to verify that the information is correct, print and sign the document, put it in a sealed envelope and then put another firm in all the envelope sealed cover. And Yes, the PMI is very serious about the latter.

* Also you will have to make photocopies of certificates received from its training courses, to demonstrate that they have received 35 contact hours of training related to the areas of knowledge 9 PMBOK Guide, for example of the PM PrepCast.

* Then you will have to submit the sealed envelopes and copies of the certificate to the PMI's review.

* PMI will inform you about its decision by e-mail. Should you not the audit, and then the PMI will refund the money paid less an administrative fee of $100.

It is important to take into account, that they have the power to accelerate the process of auditing. Before answering, as soon as possible that it is processed. The PMI is often quite fast in processing their documents audit after sending. In some cases it can take just 4 days.

Some applicants decided to resolve any future issues audit proactively even before that they select. This can be a very effective way to ensure that you will pass a possible audit. Once you are ready to submit your request to the PMI, send your primary contacts in the first place. Let them see their application and tell them if they are based on information that it has been for sale. You not only give them a chance for input, also proactively inform them what could come during an audit.
